Our Staff:
LOGAN GALLENSTEIN . . . Logan is a prominent member of the community and the Players. His enthusiasm and passion has been very evident in hours spent at the Opera House. A member of Maysville Players since 2005, Logan has a wealth of experience both on and off stage, having performed in favorites; ‘Mousetrap’, ‘Seussical the Musical’, ‘The Foreigner’ and ‘Mother Hicks’, while also producing and directing shows. Logan is the brains behind our 2022 Summer Camps, a place for young performers to learn theatre skills and thrive on stage. The kids and parents loved him! However, Logan doesn’t stop there. When he isn’t running around clearing sets, building sets, designing props, writing scenes for kids, or even cleaning here and there, we can always find him trying to learn what every switch on the lighting system does so he can become our very own ‘lighting designer’. Funny though when recently asked what he loves about the theater most, he said ‘shhh. I’m trying to see what Fader 3 does’. Logan is in his happy place, been a real trooper, and a blessing to have on our team! We ask him to do something in the Opera House, it gets done!
JON LOVELL . . . Jon moved from the United Kingdom to Maysville in 2021, to be with his now wife, Rebekah. He’s been involved with Community Theatre back in England for 20 years, having been both on and off stage for many performances. He spent 10 years on the committee for his last society, and the last 4 of those 10 years as Vice Chairman of Nomads Musical Theatre Society (yes, they spell Theater different over there). Jon has produced, directed, and stage managed many productions over the years, but his real passion lies in performing. Some favorite roles he’s had the pleasure to portray were Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde in ‘Jekyll & Hyde the Musical’; Joe Gillis in ‘Sunset Boulevard’ and Seymour in ‘Little Shop’. Jon trained at Trinity Performing Arts College, where he also spent one term with L.A.M.D.A. (London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Art), then went on to become a street performer before landing in front of a microphone to become a professional Voice Over Artist.
LAURA MCGRATH . . . Laura McGrath has always had theatre in her heart! Ever since grade school, she’s enjoyed participating in drama classes, camps and performances. Laura studied Theatre and Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University where she graduated with honors, received a scholarship for Outstanding Senior, was president of the Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honor Society, and attended a summer theatre program in London, England. She decided to go on to get her Masters in Business Administration and switched her focus to running operations of her family’s commercial roofing business in Atlanta, then moved to Raleigh, NC where she had a thriving career in real estate. Her husband was offered a job opportunity that brought their family to Maysville in November, 2019. Laura has been able to reconnect with her passion for theatre in our Opera House. She has fallen for the small town charm and sense of community that life in Maysville has to offer and has been grateful to be able join the Maysville Players leadership team. Laura has showed real strength in helping to keep the theatre going forward this past year through some tough times. We appreciate her! Another big plus, she’s a great actress as witnessed in her role as Mary Todd Lincoln in our recent production of ‘Mary and Myra’.
